FEBRUARY 2026: SOLAR ECLIPSE HITS WASHINGTON

On February 17, 2026 a partial Solar Eclipse will take place. The chart for the time of the lunation calculated with the sidereal zodiac is shown for Washington, DC. There is an almost exact conjunction with the Washington ascendant at 3* Aquarius, which indicates that it will affect the Eastern seaboard of the US.

Being a North Node eclipse it should have relatively moderate effects. However, this one is squared by Uranus, and Saturn (lord of the eclipse and the Ascendant) is conjunct Neptune with the fixed star Scheat – these being indicative of major negative outcomes. It is also at the midpoint of the recently combust Venus/Mars, a pointer towards systemic instability.

The first house is densely populated by six planets as well as the North Node, so the influence on the USA as a whole could be very significant and not just limited to the Eastern states.

The eclipse falls in the 3rd house of Sibley’s Declaration of Independence chart and being conjunct the Moon indicates an effect on the population at large. The third house relates to transport and commerce, and these could be affected.

The effects of the eclipse could be felt immediately around the time of the eclipse, or they could be triggered by the transit of Mars. The red planet will reach conjunction with the eclipse position around March 1st. There are likely to be major climatic or geophysical event extremes, or large scale social unrest or turmoils. Or both.

So, if you live in the US, beware of the Ides of March…
