Horoscope Venezuela

Whenever a major catastrophe such as the Caracas earthquake afflicts a nation it is always important to check the previous eclipse in relation to the national birth chart, if it is available.

Venezuela became an independent republic on July 5, 1811, when the National Constituent Congress signed the Act of Independence from Spain. The chart for this event is shown using the sidereal zodiac. Mars was almost exact the Ascendant, a pointer to a tumultuous future. Chiron was conjunct the IC; the full Moon was quintile Pluto in the 4th house.

The previous solar eclipse was a southern hemisphere and North Node event that took place on February 17th at 8:02 AM local time. The sidereal chart for Caracas showed Aquarius rising and a concentration of planets in Aquarius in the 12th House. On its own it did not presage the catastrophic outcome that followed.

However, when the eclipse chart is compared to Venezuela’s birth chart, some striking correlations are present. The eclipse was almost exactly on the I.C. (cusp of the 4th house ) of Venezuela and conjunct Chiron. Uranus, a notorious destabilising factor, was conjunct the radical Descendant and in partile opposition to radix Mars. The eclipse Mars was square radix Uranus. The eclipse Jupiter was conjunct Venezuela’s Sun, but sadly this was of no help as Jupiter was retrograde.

Although a solar eclipse alone cannot be regarded as a definitive indicator of a major catastrophe, its interaction with Venezuela’s national horoscope presents a compelling astrological picture. The eclipse's precise conjunction with the nation's I.C. and Chiron, together with the highly disruptive Uranian contacts and the aggressive Mars aspects, highlights a period of exceptional vulnerability affecting the country's foundations. The apparent inability of the retrograde Jupiter-Sun conjunction to provide its customary protection further underscores the severity of the configuration. From a mundane astrological perspective, this case demonstrates that eclipses may acquire far greater significance when they closely activate sensitive points in a nation's horoscope, particularly when reinforced by multiple concurrent afflictions.
